Regent Records is one of the most experienced small independent UK production companies. Since 1989 we have produced or engineered over 800 classical mastertapes intended for commercial CD release for many classical labels including ASV, Black Box, Carlton Classics (Pickwick/IMP), Chandos, CRD, Etcetera, Guild, Hyperion, Marco Polo, Meridian, Naxos, Nimbus, Olympia, SOMM and Upbeat as well as releases on our own label and programmes for BBC Radio Three. Our recordings cover all genres – solo piano, chamber music, brass and wind bands, choral and orchestral and we have produced recordings for a vast range of distinguished Artists.

Recordings produced by us have won a number of awards worldwide including a Harmonie Award (Prague) for Chandos, Edison (Holland) for Naxos, Deutsche Shallplatten (Germany) and Diapason d’Or (France) for Chandos and a CMA (Chamber Music America) Award for Avie. In 2003 a recording produced by us was nominated for a Grammy Award. We also have received several Gramophone Award nominations, Editor’s and ‘Soundings’ (for sound quality) Choices.

We offer the same high-quality recording service to choirs, instrumental ensembles and solo artists who wish to produce a mastertape for release on any label, or produce their own private CDs.

Our producer, Gary Cole, is an experienced and award-winning professional musician (trained RCM and Cambridge) and we offer a ‘value-added’ service in getting the best out of your performers for the recording. We also offer engineering and editing only should you wish to use your own producer.
